Airport transfers (Bogotá & Cartagena)

What if I can’t find my driver?

We’ll do our best to make ourselves quite obvious by having a sign with your name on it, but in the case that you can’t find your driver, please call our assistance line: (+57) 3104256864. This can be called by a local number (using a cellular network) or WhatsApp (using cellular data). Fear not! We will not leave without you and will do our best to find you.

Will my driver only speak Spanish?

Your driver will be a native Spanish-speaker, and we cannot guarantee their second-language skills. Don’t worry — our drivers know their way around incredibly well, so they will be able to get you where you need to be in a reliable and timely manner.

Should you prefer to have someone that speaks your language with you on the transfer, please indicate your preference upon booking and one of our guides can accompany the driver. Our guides are quite talented! We can offer English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, German, and Italian, and Russian. Please note that adding a guide to the transfer will come at an additional cost (the driver is included, of course).

What happens if my flight is delayed or cancelled?

If there are changes to your flight plan like delays, cancellations, or otherwise, please let us know as soon as possible via email by writing us at reservas@colombiatraveloperator.com. From there, we will figure out how to best adjust. Communication is key!

Day tours

Will there be other people on my tour?

All of our tours are private (except for our shared tours in Cartagena: Shared Chiva City Tour, Shared Cartagena Party Tour, Rosario Islands Tour). That is, if you book a certain day and time slot, you (and your group) will be the only one(s) on the tour, provided that you are all included in the same booking.

Do you only give tours in English and Spanish?

We are proud to say that we have an incredible team with a wide array of languages. In total, we can offer tours in English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, German, and Italian. We also have a Russian interpreter that can come along and translate for us. Please indicate your language preference upon booking (languages other than English and Spanish come at an additional cost).

Please note: on our shared tours (Shared Chiva City Tour, Shared Cartagena Party Tour, Rosario Islands Tour), we cannot guarantee bilingual guides.

You mention that the itineraries are flexible. What are some other things that we can do on this tour?

Our guides know Medellín, Bogotá, and Cartagena like the backs of their hands! If you are interested in seeing certain things — like art, religious artifacts, or people watching, for example — just speak up. We can put together something special just for you.

On the tours where food is included or available, will you be able to accommodate dietary restrictions on this tour?

We like to feature truly Colombian food on our tours to give our guests a good feel for the country in all aspects. However, if you have a dietary restriction, please let us know at the beginning of the tour and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Some of your Medellín tours go to Comuna 13. Is it safe to visit?

Yes! Comuna 13 has come a long way from its tumultuous past, and is now a must-see when coming to Medellín. Safety is our number one priority.

What's your cancellation policy?

Cancellations received 36 hours prior to the start of the tour will receive a full refund. Cancellations received less than 36 hours prior to the start of the tour are non-refundable. No-shows are charged full price.

Please note that this policy only applies to our day tours. Our multi-day tours have a more specific cancellation policy that you can read on our terms & conditions page.

What's your cancellation policy on shared tours?

Since these tours are not “ours” so to speak, the cancellation policy differs from that of our own. In the case of needing to cancel or reschedule, please get in touch with us at reservas@colombiatraveloperator.com.

Multi-day tours

Will there be other people on my multi-day trip?

No, all of our multi-day trips are 100% private. We work with our clients closely throughout the process so that this adventure is exactly what you want it to be.

Are your multi-day tours customizable?

Absolutely. We can modify any of our pre-existing itineraries to better suit your tastes. If you want to create your very own itinerary, feel free to take a look at our Customize Your Own Multi-Day Trip page for inspiration, and get in touch with us today via the form on that page.

What's your cancellation policy?

All services are prepaid, without exception. Passengers may cancel their trip or activity at any time. However, Colombia Travel Operator reserves the right to charge a cancellation fee. The fees are as follows:

  • 6 days or less prior to the tour: 100% cancellation fee (hotel reservations are non-refundable)
  • 7-10 days prior to the tour: 50% cancellation fee
  • 11-15 days prior to the tour: 30% cancellation fee
  • 16 days or more prior to the tour: 10% cancellation fee (administrative rate)

In order to cancel your trip, please contact our travel consultants at reservas@colombiatraveloperator.com. The refund will appear on the credit card used to make the reservation or to a PayPal account within 10 days of confirmation of cancellation.

Please note that this policy only applies to our multi-day tours. Our cancellation policy for day tours can be found on our terms & conditions page.

Are flights included?

Our multi-day tours do not include airline tickets (with the exception of our 1-Week Caño Cristales Tour). The airfare that we provide in our quotes is an approximate price. The value of the airline ticket must be paid 100% in advance and is not refundable. In the event of changes to domestic flights, the penalties and fees imposed by the airline will be passed onto the client.
