Detailed itinerary
Days 1-2: Medellín
Explore Medellín | Botero Plaza | Medellín Coffee Laboratory
Upon your arrival to Medellín, we will collect you at the airport and get started on our week-long adventure. Our first couple of days take place in…
…Medellín and its surrounding area. We’ll take you around the city and show you all of the most important attractions, like Botero Plaza and the Metropolitan Cathedral (it’s pretty similar to our Medellín City Tour). On day 2, we head to northern Medellín to the Coffee Laboratory and its plantation. Here, we will learn about the processes that are involved in growing, harvesting, and processing coffee beans.
Day 3: Jericó or Jardín
Coffee plantation | coffee tasting | explore a coffee town
Our next stop is to a quaint, coffee-centric town on the south side of Medellin. We’ll tour the town and…
…enjoy the tranquil atmosphere as we learn about its history and coffee origins. On the agenda is also a tour of a coffee plantation, where we will learn about the different processes of preparing coffee to be consumed and sample the fruits of Colombian labor. Our one night spent here will be at a glorious hotel right on a coffee farm.
Day 4-6: Cultural coffee region of Colombia
Visit Salento | coffee plantations | plant wax palm tree
Our adventure then leads us to Salento and the Cocora Valley, both of which are incredibly special places. The Andean town of Salento is best known for…
…its lush landscape with bright green, rolling hills that will bring you peace at first sight. The Cocora Valley is home to many waxy palm trees, one of Colombia’s national symbols, that house a variety of rare species of parrots. While in this wonderland, we’ll visit a variety of coffee plantations to show you how much of an art coffee-making truly is… and, of course, to drink lots of coffee. This exotic getaway will not only give you the coffee-filled experience of a lifetime, but will also allow you to sink into its pervading sense of tranquility.
Day 7: Head back to Medellín
We’ll wave our goodbyes to the Colombian countryside and head back to Medellín so that you can get onto your next adventure.
